Tayla Lawrie holds a Bachelor of Advanced Science with Honours in Ecology from The University of Queensland and is currently completing a PhD with Professor Emily Nicholson at the University of Melbourne. Their research focuses on biodiversity indicators and how they are used to understand, report on, and inform responses to biodiversity change. Tayla is interested in biodiversity data collection and management, and in identifying barriers to indicator development and uptake to support conservation decision‑making across government, industry, and research. Alongside their PhD, they continue to work on the Threatened Species Index project at the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network.
